Answers...

Will there be standing water inside the SquidGee™ Dry Basement Waterproofing system?

Water is fluid and self leveling there for it will flow back out the seam where the floor and walls meet.

How do I connect the basement waterproofing system to the sump pump?

We suggest ripping a 3" PVC pipe lengthwise so its just a half round. Place the half round pipe on the floor from the system to the sump and adhere it to the basement floor without our SealOnce™ Adhesive. The water then flows under the PVC pipe and into your sump pump.

Do I have to drill holes into my basement walls if it is poured concrete?

Poured walls do not have hollow cells that fill with water like block walls, so there is no need to drill holes. The water will seep in from the cold joint where the floor and wall meet.

Can I install the SquidGee™ Dry system when there is standing water in my basement?

The SealOnce™ is a moisture activated sealant and will work in wet conditions. If you can do your installation in dry to damp conditions the installation will be much simpler, but the SealOnce™ Adhesive is specially designed to work with wet conditions. Special attention is needed when installing the basement waterproofing systems in wet conditions... (click here to learn more)

How long does the SealOnce™ Adhesive take to cure?

SealOnce™ will setup in 12 hours and will be fully cured in three days. Hot, humid weather speeds up the set time.

What do I have to do to the basement walls before installation?

There is nothing you need to do to the basement walls as the system is not attached to the wall, only the basement floor.

How do I connect the system to the basement walls?

The SquidGee™ Dry basement waterproofing system is not attached to the walls, so there is nothing you need to do to the walls before installation. Not attaching the system to the basement walls allows any water above the system to be directed into the baseboard, where it is safely directed out of your basement creating a clean and dry basement for you and your family.

Can I install the basement waterproofing system on top of a painted basement floor?

Only if the paint has a bond that stands up to aggressive attempts to remove the paint without chemicals. (NEVER USE CHEMICAL STRIPPERS because they will react negatively with the SealOnce™ Adhesive and reduce the watertight bond between the basement floor and baseboard system.

How many tubes of the SealOnce™ Adhesive do you need with each main section?

Order a minimum of one tube per section to create the most effective watertight bond. A tall, thick bead of glue will be the best way to bond the system and waterproof your basement. An extra tube would be wise and useful when installing your inside, outside corners, end caps and butt joints. Click here to order your basement waterproofing system today!

How do I create the best watertight bond between the baseboard and the floor?

Clean, dry floors are the best start. SealOnce™ works best with long term, gentle compression. The finish bead of SealOnce™ in front of the system should be slicked down tight to the floor with your finger. Use liquid laundry soap and water on your finger to keep the SealOnce™ from sticking to your fingers. Click here to learn more tips when install the system...

Should I patch cracks in my basement walls before installing the system?

Only if it is a poured wall. Any water that may come down the face of the wall should run right into the SquidGee™ Dry basement waterproofing system.

Can you paint the front of the SquidGee™ Dry Basement Waterproofing system?
